
The main objective of Bayside Montessori School is to assist each child with the development of tolerance and respect for people, an understanding of the cultural diversity of the world in which we live, and a respect for the natural environment and to foster within each child the tools required to become a life long learner, a competent citizen, a proponent of peace, and a responsible custodian of the earth.
The following are the specific goals for the children who attend our school:

Bayside Montessori School is dedicated to helping each child develop within him or herself the fundamental skills, habits, attitudes, appreciations, ideas and self-esteem which will be the foundation for a lifetime of creative learning.
The staff is committed to the concept that every child should be given the opportunity to develop to the fullest of his or her potential.
The aim of the school is to encourage active, self-directed learning and to strike a balance of individual mastery with small group collaboration within the whole group community.
Children who are involved in a Montessori program have been described as having developed self-discipline, self-knowledge and independence, as well as enthusiasm for learning, an organized approach to problem-solving and solid academic skills.
Due to this self-development, and the development of the child’s self-esteem, the Montessori child makes the transition to a more traditional environment in later years with confidence and characteristic success.
