The classroom day is organized to allow plenty of time for individual explorations along with small and large group activities. The variety of activities and lessons offered foster positive interactions between children, enhanced global citizenship, peaceful exchanges, and academic mastery. The heterogeneous and multi-age population of the children creates a variety of opportunities for peer teaching and social interactions. The outdoors is a vital part of our curriculum. Our site with a year-round creek and huge cedars offers a living laboratory to study, trees to climb, hills to run down and water to race toy boats in. Our site also has special areas for solitude and reflection and rejoicing in nature. Field trips and student arranged research outings are vital to the elementary classes.
