Bayside Montessori School was founded in 1993, in response to a desire by parents for their children to have an elementary Montessori experience.  Begun by Kate McSwain with eleven students, the school has grown to include a six through nine year old class, a nine through twelve year old class (in 1996) and in 2003, preschool classes were added. 

All classes are offered on a five-day week basis. Today, Bayside Montessori is the only school in Whatcom and Skagit counties to offer a Montessori education for children age three to twelve.  Currently sixty students age three to twelve attend at Bayside with a staff of eight. 

We are one of hundreds of Montessori schools that have been educating children with proven results for over 80 years.  All lead teachers have college degrees and are Montessori certified.  Bayside is an approved State of Washington Accredited School and a Gates Grant School.
